Here is the first stage of developing Doodie in 3D. I work closely with the modeler to make certain every aspect of Doodie is captured in this 3D model.

PROJECT STRUTT: September 22nd 2007

What we were looking for in this rendered shot is whether all of the bones were working correctly. We realized we were missing the knee joints as you see the legs appear to be like rubber. This is one of those things you find after the rendered state. This is a crucial part of the development and editing phase of making a character animated. This is why we review all the clips together and a day after for a second time to make certain we catch all possible errors.

As we progress with the development of Doodie as a 3D character we are faced with the challenge of making him move realistically. What I mean is, although he is a fictional character and we want a sort of cookie and clumsy feel to him, we also understand that movement needs to be fluid and easy. Not until the model is rendered do we see the outcome and here is one of those rendered versions. We will continue to modify until we get the look and movement we want. This phase can be time consuming but fun as well.

Oct 3rd 2007 Here are a few screen shots of Doodie with his space vessel. Tracy really captured the look and feel I envisioned. You can feel the drama from this.

Oct 7th 2007 Here are screen shots of the landing bay with the ship hovering over it. We are trying to add all elements to make it as appealing as possible.
